This evening, while reading the "Broken Heart" of Rogers Park looking for updated news on one of the more important issues of recent times -- namely the blatant and willful cutting down of a tent in the park -- I came across this very disturbing comment from Kathleen Hogan:
Sorry, Craig, it was Mother Nature who blew down the little paint tent, not mischief-makers. As for the human excrement, I was not informed; when walking in the park, most humans must be careful not to step into unpicked-up dog leavings.
I feel that it is this sort of avoidance of the issues that is keeping Rogers Park from being the utopian neighborhood that it could be. Mother Nature? Really? Next they'll be claiming that it was a "big bad wolf" who "huffed and puffed" and blew the tent down.
It brings to mind another situation where "Mother Nature" was blamed for such destruction. Buildings were destroyed, people lost their homes, lives were lost and ruined. Everyone was so quick to cast the blame on "Mother Nature" and yet we learned in the months that followed that it was actually the federal government's fault and had nothing whatsoever to do with "Mother Nature."
This stinks of more than just the "human excrement" left behind. This smells of a cover-up.

When I read Ms. Hogan's comment on the Hell Hole, I knew right away this was spin, like a tornado.
Blaming Ma-Nature, ah, come-on Katy Hogan, I checked the weather channel, she didn't knock the tent down.
A nagging question still lingers, who has the missing scissors and when are the results going to be posted on rogersparkdotcom?
Craig -- you raise an interesting point. It is terrifying to know that there is a pair of scissors unaccounted for in Rogers Park. If those are used in another crime, who will be held responsible?
It would be nice if Charlie would keep us up to date with this sort of thing on rogerspark.com. Is this in the works, Charlie?
I'm having trouble knowing what portions of this are serious and what portions are a joke.
Given that the weather was not extreme, a well-constructed tent should not have fallen over that night. However, I know how many people don't know how to tie a knot or properly stake a tent. So a light wind might very well have knocked over this tent, if it weren't staked in correctly. So maybe it was neither the wind, nor vandals, but rather poor camping skills (or a combination of any two, or even all three).
So Craig says it was vandalism, and Katie says it isn't. Then Archie believes rumormonger Craig over Katie? Are you kidding, or are you serious? And then how does Charlie come into this?
I'm just confused. You young kids and your senses of humor...
I'm actually not sure how Charlie came into this, but I just liked agreeing with Craig so much I got carried away.
Ha.......just read this. Craig must believe that it is I behind the musings of Archie t.s. Gait (aka)........well you know. Though Craig is clearly not awares.

PS officially the big wigs at rogerspark.com are under of the opinion that the Edgewater Community Councils webmaster and arts coordinator cut the tent down.
Yes, Craig has long labored under the misconception that you and I are the same person, Charlie. In fact, we are merely distant cousins. How is Aunt Clara doing, anyway?
As for your belief that the Edgewater Community Council is behind the vandalism, that mirrors the results of some of my independent investigations. Perhaps we should get together sometime to discuss our findings.
